Spearmint is an herb with a strong minty taste and aroma. Its leaves are pointed with serrated margins. Its extract is used for all kinds of flavoring.
The leaves should look green and perky. The mint flavor you can smell. Swaddle the leaves on a damp paper towel in a bag in the refrigerator and they’ll last a week.
Wash first, then dry. Roll the leaves into a bunch to chop easy. Cut up spearmint with cucumber and seafood for a cold ceviche. You can even make mint jelly. Place a few whole leaves to the side of your dish for extra flair!
