Nectarines are very similar to peaches. The only difference is they have no fuzz. Otherwise, they taste the same as a peach.
Select a nectarine with a slight give. If it is slightly soft it is ripe and ready to eat. You may store it in the crisper for up to a week. If you want to store nectarines for longer you may freeze them.
Nectarines should be washed with cold water. You can eat them straight from the hand. They also do well in desserts. Nectarine cobbler or sliced with a bit of whipped cream. You can also simmer them down to make a sweet sauce.
