Broccoli

Broccoli is a crunchy vegetable with lots of florets. Broccoli originates in the Mediterranean.

Quality Check

Look for dense heads. The florets should be tight with a green color. The stems should be firm with strong stalks. Avoid bunches that have yellowing. You can store broccoli unwashed in an open plastic bag in the fridge.  

Preparation

Broccoli is very versatile. It can be used in salad, roasted with salt and pepper, or steamed. You can also use it in stir fry. Broccoli is also great gently sauteed with a bit of lemon. This vegetable is great to add texture and nutrients to any dish.
